Obituary

Tom Allen Carver, 72, of Nashville and formerly of Robertson County, Tennessee, entered the Arms of the Lord on Tuesday, January 13, 2015. Born August 3, 1942, to Harry Thomas Carver and Myrle Fisher Carver, Tom lived a life anchored by faith, family, and service. He was a longtime member of Orlinda Baptist Church and retired from DuPont, where he proudly served on the Fire Brigade and with COI Food Service.

A Life of Service

Tom never met a stranger. Whether encouraging young musicians, cheering on first responders, or lending his expertise to business partners, he led with generosity and strategic insight. After the passing of his beloved wife Marie, he poured his time into his daughters, grandchildren, church family, and faithful friends—always ready with a warm grin and a story that could coax out laughter.

Faith, Family, and Joy

He was known for his sense of humor, his devotion to loved ones, and his treasured dachshund companion. When the seasons allowed, Tom maintained an impeccable garden and never missed an opportunity to listen, advise, or pray with someone in need. He lived what he believed: that faith is active, love is generous, and service is a privilege.

Family

Tom is preceded in death by his parents Harry Thomas and Myrle Fisher Carver and by his wives, Nancy Carver Dallas and Lovett Carver. He is survived by his daughters Linda Azar (George) and Kay Lasley (Lynn); grandchildren Joshua Azar (Brooklyn), Kaelyn Lasley, and Boyd Lasley; great-grandchildren Olivia Azar and Carter Jo Azar; brother Willie Paul Carpenter; sisters Lauree Carter and Dorothy Buechel; dear family friends; and a host of relatives who cherish his memory.

Celebrating His Life

A celebration of Tom’s life was held at Oakhurst Chapel, Robertson County Funeral Home on January 15, 2015, followed by burial in Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Franklin, Kentucky. In every remembrance shared since, one theme shines through: Tom Carver lived a life of steadfast integrity and compassionate leadership. May we continue to honor him by serving others with the same courage, humility, and joy.
